Job Discussion Cards

These cards are great for class warmers and discussion activities. This set of cards consists of 20 question cards related to jobs and employment. Each question card contains an image as well as a sentence frame to help students with answering the question. The deck also contains a page with some ideas for activities as well as a card back page. Below are the questions contained on the cards:

 

  1. What is your dream job? Describe it.
  2. What was your first job? Describe it.
  3. Would you like to work for Google? Why/Why not?
  4. What are five jobs you would enjoy?
  5. What are five jobs you would hate? Why?
  6. At what age do people typically begin to work in your country?
  7. Do you think it's important to attend college to get a good job? Why/Why not?
  8. Is it more important to have a job you love or a job that pays really well?
  9. Is it common for women in your country to continue working after having children? What is your opinion on this topic?
  10. When should people retire? When do people typically retire in your country?
  11. What do you plan to do after you retire?
  12. Do you work? If so, describe your job.
  13. How long is a typical work day in your country?
  14. Do you think women and men should be paid the same for the same job? Explain.
  15.  What are some ways a person can prepare for a job interview?
  16. What is your major? What types of jobs can people get with it?
  17. When you were a child, what job did you want to have? Have you changed your mind?
  18. Would you ever do a dangerous job? What are some jobs you think are dangerous?
  19. Would you want a job that made you famous such as a singer or actor? Why/Why not?
  20. Would you like to do the same job for the rest of your life?
