This next weekend I’ll be attending the California Acceleration Project’s Northern Community of Practice where I’ll be leading a post-reading workshop. Below is a link for a theme-based unit on language and identity that uses two readings on the topic.
The unit includes pre-reading, post-reading, and analysis building activities for the two readings it covers. At the end of the unit, students will write a synthesis essay about the readings and their own opinion on the topic. You can access the unit at the following link in Google Docs. Pay attention to the comments on the side for teacher notes about carrying out different activities.
